What is a Cub Scout Trainer Wood Badge Ticket?

A ticket During Baden-Powell's military career, British soldiers who were stationed overseas had to earn their ticket home after their term of service was complete. Baden-Powell used the term to apply to the Wood Badge commitment.

The ticket is an agreement between the participant and a staff member called the Den Counselor. This agreement is the participant's plan of action, describing how he or she will apply the knowledge gained during the course to his or her Council or District training job. Every ticket item should include a statement defining the goal of the project and how it will benefit the local Council or District program. Working the ticket helps perfect the skills required to effectively administer training.

As each part of the ticket is completed, the participant furnishes information about what was done, and an evaluation of the activity, to the Den Counselor. The Den Counselor verifies successful completion of the ticket, and decides when and if the Wood Badge regalia should be awarded.

Where Can I See a Sample Ticket?

Hopefully, you won't be able to; Cub Scout Trainer Wood Badge tickets are not published. The ticket is a personal commitment, developed as the course unfolds and based on many factors, including:

Since the purpose of the ticket is to perfect the skills gained during the course, it doesn't make sense to start thinking about the ticket prior to the course. Further, with all of the variables listed above, it is very unlikely that a participant will benefit from someone else's ticket.
